Alan Reinecke moves from the timpani to the podium of the Pasadena
Community Orchestra. Alan is a busy freelance musician, having been the
Timpanist of the Rio Hondo Symphony since 1983, and has performed
extensively with the Riverside Philharmonic, St. Matthew's Chamber Orchestra,
The Burbank Philharmonic, besides his twenty-five years with the
Pasadena Community Orchestra. Other prestigious groups include orchestras in
Santa Barbara, The Pacific Symphony, The Long Beach Symphony, The
Pasadena Symphony, The Los Angeles Music Center Opera, The Los Angeles
Philharmonic New Music Group, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He has played
with several notable conductors, including Grant Gershon, William
Eddins, Patrick Flynn, David Alan Miller, John Nelson, Yuri Temirkanov,
Jorge Mester, John Williams, and Simon Rattle.
Alan was educated at the University of Southern California, where he
studied conducting with Daniel Lewis and Hans Beer, and percussion with
Kenneth Watson and Dale Anderson. Summer festivals include The Music
Academy of the West, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute. Other
teachers include Mitchell Peters and Raynor Carroll. He makes his home in
Whittier. |
