Anna Volovitch, piano

Anna Volovitch started taking piano lessons at the age of seven in Kazan, Russia, at the Kazan Special Music School under the Kazan State Conservatory. In 1998, she received the third prize in the International Bach Piano Competition in Kazan. Anna entered Kazan State Conservatory under the name of N.G. Zhiganov in 2001 and studied under Professor Elfiya Bournasheva.

At the 2001 International Piano Forum and Competition for Young Musicians in Helsingor, Denmark, Anna was awarded the first prize. She was highly commented at the 2003 Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists Competition in Tunbridge Wells, England and was a finalist and a special prize winner at the 2005 Rudolf Firkuszny Competition in Prague, Czech Republic.

Since November 2006, Anna has been a part of the Artist Certificate program at Azusa Pacific University, studying under Roza Kostrzewska Yoder. In 2007 Anna received third prize at the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition and was the winner of the SAI International Competition and APU Concerto Competition, all of which were held in Los Angeles, USA. In 2008 Anna received the first prize at MTAC competition, the first prize at the Antelope Valley Concerto competition and performed with the Antelope Valley Symphony Orchestra. In June 2008 she participated in the Sunflower Chamber Music Festival in Topeka, Kansas and most recently she won the second prizes in Concerto and Budapest Recital categories at the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition in Los Angeles.
